According to Suvarnaprabhasa Sutra, Saraswati is the goddess of learning and wisdom. By relying on her blessings, a sadhaka (committed disciple) may become a great vocalist or eloquent orator. Thus the goddess is primarily is associated with bramha and hence her vehicle is Swan. In this painting Goddess Saraswati is seated on her vehicle Swan and playing Veena (her favorite stringed musical instrument), rosary and scripture. The artist has given a scenic background of mountains and lake with white lotus on it. |
